Insects + Spider Webs Print Maxi Dress
Insects + Spider Webs Print Maxi Dress
I can honestly say I haven't come across a print quite like this one before; It certainly defies the "pretty florals" in pleasing palettes that I'm used to seeing on dresses of this period. Instead we have a floral print, turned on its ear with the florals, or what appear to be tulips in this case, set at a diagonal and juxtaposed alongside bunches of blue berries and various leaves. Between the foliage there are several creepy crawlies, including various moths, bugs, butterflies and spider webs. A few turtles and lizards also appear between shells and mollusks.
The print is rendered in primarily shades of blue, with pops of turquoise, teal and shades of green, set against a white background.
The dress is sleeveless with a rolled neck and tailored bodice. The dress does have a true waist with small gathers just below to offer a little roominess through the hip, though the shape of the skirt remains columnar.
The dress is made of a nylon / poly fabric and is unlined, with a nylon back zip closure.
