Raindrops and Faces in Profile Novelty Print Maxi Dress
Raindrops and Faces in Profile Novelty Print Maxi Dress
I love a good novelty print, and this one is beyond good. It's outstanding.
The print depicts a face in profile, the line of the face rendered in a contrasting pastel magenta against light blue, with a full head of curly hair that-- in a nod to Peter Max style-- squiggly clouds of various shades radiate out from it, while raindrops (or we could read these as teardrops if we want to make this print seem all-the-more poignant) fall from the cloud-shapes while a serene face in profile gazes out from it. Magenta squares break up the repeating pattern. Psychedelic vibes, mixed with splashy pastels and suggestive imagery, this print is special. Though distinctly vintage, it echoes the aesthetic of prints used in modern fashion. I'm just in love with it.
The sleeves are voluminous and full, with a balloon effect at the fitted cuffs.
The dress has a square neckline, lined in scalloped white lace. A second line of lace runs just across the top of the bust-line.
With an empire waist, the dress float away from the body and into a maxi length trumpet skirt.
Dress is unlined and slightly sheer with a metal center back zipper closure.
