Orange Leather Beged-Or Romper
This crazy piece came from the closet of a Brentwood woman who was a model in the 1960s. Her wardrobe was PACKED with designer labels and her walls slathered with illustrations and paintings produced in her honor, her jewelry drawers overflowing with gifts from her many admirers. What a woman.
Almost all of the pieces from her closet were adventurous, and this is no exception.
Here we have a rare (I know everyone boasts RARE, but this is the real deal, RARE) bright orange leather ROMPER. I know what you're thinking: isn't this a dress? And at first glance, it appears so, but if you flip up the tails on the front or back *BOOM* there it is: shorts.
This romper has a collared neckline with big lapels and two faux flap front pockets over the bust. The romper is tailored through the bust and bodice with front button closure of big leather covered buttons. The romper has belt loops across the true waist that hold an included gold tone chain link belt. There are two more flap front (faux) pockets over each hip.
As mentioned, the romper has a slit in both the front and back, though which coordinating orange length shorts may be spied.
Of course, as with the quality one comes to expect with Beged-Or pieces of this era, the piece is fully lined in what feels like an acetate satin.
Again, it bears mentioned: WHAT A WOMAN!
