Velvet Bejeweled Mini Dress
Sumptuous black velvet meets sparkling jewels in this 60s bell-sleeve party dress.
Dress has a deep scoop neck lined with thick satin piping and fitted empire waist, also decorated with the same thick band of satin piping.
The long sleeves have a bell flare to them, the hems of each cuff also displaying the same thick band of satin piping. The interiors of the sleeves, meanwhile, are lined in pink satin, and for the most part this fun and unexpected detail is hidden, except for when the arm is raised or in motion. A pop of pink peeks through with movement. It's such a playful detail on an otherwise (barring the jeweled front) all-black dress.
Though the dress has an empire waist, it is also fitted with a defined true waist (apparent in the pictures) and does not flare out or loosen slightly at the waist in the way most would anticipate an empire cut dress would. This is quite body hugging through the bust and waist.
The center waist is bejeweled with large, glimmering stone and beads set in a starburst pattern.
The skirt is is a mini length with more of a semi-fitted pencil shape to it that hits above the knee.
Partially lined in the sleeves an top, with a metal center back zipper closure.
