Victor Costa Polka-Dot Tulle Ruffle Polka-Dot Gown

Welcome to the white tulle polka-dot gown of my dreams. This statement dress has an asymmetrical neckline in a one-shoulder style with a giant flower shaped from white and black tulle set on top. 

Body-hugging through the bodice with tightly gathered rows of ruching, the dress has a mermaid cut with voluminous tulle jutting out to form the skirt. Black bows decorate the right hip and left shoulder. 

And just because it bears repeating, the dress is pure white, frothy tulle, with large black polka-dots ALL OVER. 

The dress is fully lined with a side nylon coil zipper.

If you're not familiar with Victor Costa, many of his pieces were available for purchase at Neiman's and other high-end stores despite the fact they were often line-for-line copies of couture designer gowns (and he is not shy about admitting this either). The appeal of his work still endures to this day and his pieces offer affordable alternatives for high-fashion pieces but I can't help but wonder whenever I stock or come across a particularly striking Victor Costa gown: Who was he copying with this one? Someone and something fabulous, clearly.
